If avoiding such places isn&#8217;t feasible, wearing a mask and frequent hand washing—especially before preparing or eating food—are recommended. Additionally, using shared utensils when eating with others can help reduce the risk.

Symptoms of a mycoplasma infection are similar to those of the flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, and muscle aches. However, a distinguishing feature of this infection is severe coughing and its ease of transmission through inhaling droplets mixed with mucus or phlegm. After exposure, symptoms typically develop within 1 to 4 weeks.

If your child or any family member exhibits the following symptoms, seek medical attention promptly:

<li>Severe coughing, rapid breathing, or retraction of the chest during breathing</li>
<li>Muscle pain</li>
